Job Description:
Cheers' bartenders are a representation of our quality and service. The ideal candidate will engage customers in the service encounter. Bartenders will interact with our guests and ensure they have a great experience while dining with us. You must be attentive, polite and possess excellent interpersonal skills. Guests must always feel welcome, comfortable and important.
General Responsibilities:
- Know the menu including ingredients, substitutions, sides, presentation and possible allergens
- Greet guests, take beverage orders from the restaurant servers or directly from guests.
- Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
- Mix drinks, cocktails and other bar beverages in compliance with company standards.
- Prep bar for service at the start of your shift. Break down at the end of the night.
- Collect payment for drinks served and balance all receipts.
- Ensure that the bar area is fully equipped with all necessary tools and equipment.
- Serve food to guests seated at the bar where appropriate.
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus and promotions.
- Maintain a clean and orderly working area.
- Provide superior customer service at all times
- Build bar clientele
- Suggest drink promos and cocktail specials to FOH manager
- Perform inventory as required
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, service procedures and function.
- Have working knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common drink recipes.
- Basic math skills and the ability to handle money and operate a cash register.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 20 pounds.
Education and Experience:
- Education
- High school diploma or higher required
- Bartending certification preferred
- Experience:
- Previous bartending experience required.
Prior restaurant experience preferred.
