The Moxy Hotel Tempe is currently seeking an experienced, knowledgeable and independent-working Banquet Captain On-call to lead the Banquet Team. Position Responsibilities:

• Work with Catering Sales Manager and Sales staff to ensure all meeting rooms are set to hotel and guest expectations
• Work with banquet serving staff to ensure meetings are exceptionally serviced
• Work with meeting room guests to ensure you are accessible to service any needs they may have
• Set up audio visual requirements for the meeting needs
• Responsible to keep meeting rooms and meeting storage clean and well maintained
• Control labor and expenses
• Create new and innovative ways to ensure a memorable experience for everyone involved
• Responsible for banquet equipment and inventory
• Responsible for coaching and counseling of Banquet staff with the Hotel leadership involvement
• Hires, trains, and schedules Banquet staff.
• Sets up all banquet function tables, table linens, china, silverware, glass ware, and center pieces, waiting and beverage stations, and perishable items for banquet service (such as bread, butter, and cream).
• Participate and schedules BEO/Group Resume Meetings in addition to departmental meetings, and regular "one on one" meetings with support staff.
• Ensure that proper scheduling of staff is done appropriately based on forecasted business and in advance without putting department in unnecessarily overtime.
• Be responsible for limited waste of food and operating supplies
• Arrange serving dishes, trays, utensils, cups and all paper products
• Comply with all state and local food health requirements in addition to brand standards
• Ability to work a flexible and varied schedule as dictated by business levels

Requirements

• Education and Experience Required:
• Must have previous hotel banquet food and beverage experience
• Food handler and Liquor certification as required by law or brand standard
