Back of House Assistant Director
Job description
The Assistant Operations Directors play a pivotal role in our ability to achieve excellent operational execution, uphold a remarkable environment, and maintain balanced profitability. The Assistant Operations Director is specifically focused on leading Team Members in delivering remarkable food to our guests in a clean, food safe, well-functioning back of house environment. All Assistant Operations Directors support the Business Director. There are opportunities to be an Assistant Director in both the front and back of house.
Back of House Success Factors:
- Maintaining CEM Taste scores of 82 or above and Order Accuracy scores of 98 or above on a monthly basis. When these scores are not being met, having the ability to recognize areas for improvement and coaching the team accordingly.
- Championing and owning food safety through daily execution of SAFEs, and follow-up to ensure changes in operations are implemented based off of SAFE findings. Work with Training Director to identify areas of needed training around food safety.
- In conjunction with Business Director, identifying labor needs and opportunity to run balanced BOH operations.
- Show ownership and understanding of Food Cost.
- Manage R&M and cleanliness of all BOH machinery and equipment, maintaining a “like-new” environment.
- Successful oversight of daily shift execution, ensuring each Team Member is in the correct position at the right time for optimal throughput.
- Ability to encourage, champion, and cheer on Team Members toward success.
- Working knowledge of all Kitchen Team Member roles and functions.
Qualifications:
- Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve, and make quick decisions on a daily basis
- Set goals and motivate a team towards achieving those goals
- Ability to work in a fast-pace, high volume environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Customer service oriented
- Proven leadership skills
- Desire to grow and be developed as an individual
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on feet for at least 9 hours
- Knowledge of Spanish strongly desired, but not required
Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory role
