Job Description:
This role requires General Motor Dealer Technician experience. Vertex Professional Services (VPS) is looking for an Automotive Technical Subject Matter Expert with experience in the Dealer Technician Service repair field. This position works closely with a curriculum development team and other automotive subject matter experts to research, develop and validate technical training courses.

Experience/Skills Required:

• Minimum of 5-10 years of professional experience as an automobile service technician
• Understanding of a typical automotive service department environment.
• Strong all around knowledge of automotive systems with in-depth experience in Automatic Transmissions, Manual Transmissions, and Rear Axle Systems.
• In depth experience with Automatic Transmissions including mechanical and electrical systems.
• This person must be familiar with Light Duty and Heavy Duty Automatic Transmission Theory, diagnostics, and Unit Repair Overhaul Service.
• Experience with Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• Good communication skills
• The ability coach technicians in diagnosis and repairs of Automatic Transmissions.
• Strong OEM experience.

Skills/ Experience Preferred:

• Familiarization with General Motors and Allison Transmission Products

Certifications Required:

• Current ASE certifications in A1 through A8., especially A2 and A3

Additional Information:

• Some travel is required for the position, traveling out of state approximately 1 week per month.
• Expected hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm
• Work Week: 5/40

• 8 hour shift
