Day to Day:

A client of Insight Global is looking to bring on an Assortment Planning Manager in the Weehawken, NJ area.

• Develop and execute detailed assortment plans based on sales, consumer needs and gaps vs. the competition

• Lead cross-functional communication of product plans

• Lead competitive reviews and determine action plans based on insights

• Develop and implement pricing strategy
• Develop tools to better set retails, monitor margin and react to trends/competition.

• Develop reporting and monitor performance (by category, collection, product type, price point, etc.) and be the Subject Matter Expert for the category.

• Support site merchandising to drive sales and ensure consistent customer experience

• The Senior Analyst will play a critical role in establishing new templates for pricing, assortment planning and reporting that the greater team will be able to leverage.

• The Senior Analyst will provide thought leadership to strategic projects and streamlining regular tasks

• The Senior Analyst will seek out white spaces for new product development.

Product Planning:

• Conduct assortment reviews to ensure productive assortment that is driving sales
• Conduct competitive review to inform product strategies
• Manage new product architecture and process in partnership with Product Development and Inventory Planning
• Own communication of new product launches to cross-functional counterparts and package the key product priorities and stories to the Marketing team ahead of each season
• Own weekly product reporting and present insights on weekly business review; identify new reporting needs and build out reporting in Excel
• Support Catalog merchandising process
• Consult Inventory team on discontinuation and other life-cycle strategies
• Consult Site Merchandising team to ensure products are best represented online

Pricing:

• Build, evolve and maintain pricing models to manage base retail strategies
• Set sku level pricing to achieve margin targets; ensure proper pricing relationships among internal comps with consideration of competitive comps
• Conduct competitive reviews to inform pricing decisions
• Translate pricing strategies into sku lists, ensuring accuracy
• Build and own product margin reporting
• Build and own price change reporting

Requirements:

• 7+ years of assortment planning experience – proven ability to analyze, evaluate, and interpret complex data; innate intellectual curiosity
• 2-3 years of management experience
• Advanced excel
• Familiar with PowerPoint for data visualization
• Ability to understand business drivers and influence decision making with cross-functional partners
• Track record of taking ownership and driving results; ability to learn quickly and independently
• Ability to work simultaneously across several streams balancing quality of work and consistent delivery
• High comfort level working in a fast paced environment
• Rigorous attention to detail
• Experience working with high level internal stakeholders (presenting data finding and making business recommendations)
• Ability to recognize how tasks rank in order of urgency to prioritize time
• Overall good business acumen and ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to work independently and problem solve

Plusses:

• Experience working with luxury level furniture, bedding or home accessories (Crate and Barel, Pottery Barn, Serna and Lilly, Bloomingdales)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50.00 - $65.00 per hour
