Machinist

Olin Winchester, LLC (“Winchester”), considered one of the world’s leading ammunition manufacturers, is seeking an Associate Machinist. This position will be located at the Lake City Army Ammunitions Plant in Independence, MO. Essential Functions*:

• Performs machine maintenance and minor repairs.
• Dismantles machines or equipment, using hand tools and power tools, to examine parts for defects and replace defective parts, as needed.
• Set up and use manual machines such as lathes, horizontal and vertical mills, surface grinders, and VTL lathe.

Position Requirements*:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of related work experience required, three years preferred.
• Welding experience preferred.
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and precision measuring such as micrometers and calipers.
• Familiar with government and military drawings/specifications and commercial specifications preferred.
• Must possess excellent analytical, customer service, communication (oral and written), problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Ability to work well with all levels of personnel and customers.
• Must obey safety rules and regulations and wear proper safety equipment.
• This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls if required.
• This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
• This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies.
• Must possess, or be eligible to obtain, and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
