We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Associate HR Specialist to join our Corporate HR Business Partner team. This individual will partner with Business Leaders in areas of talent strategy, performance management, and employee relations, with focus on the goal of enhancing talent and business performance and engagement.
- Assist HR Business Partners in managing recruiting efforts,reporting and job descriptions
- Work closely with Talent Acquisition Partners and hiring Managers to ensure smooth onboarding experience
- Manage the Onboarding process including updating and facilitating Orientation for Corporate employees, new hire check-ins and act as a liaison with Technology team and business leaders on equipment orders
- Gatekeeper of company handbooks, ensures policies are updated, approved, posted and published with version control
- Handle corporate employee business card orders
- Support I-9 team with employment work authorizations and reverifications
- Conduct initial intake conversations and partner with HR Business Partners on investigations
- Assist with Performance Improvement Plan, and Performance Evaluation Plan guidance.
- Assist with unemployment hearings by reviewing charge materials, mentoring managers and attend hearings, as needed
- Assist Internal Audit with information needed for control testing
- Review and follow up on reports to maintain compliance
- Review and approve as appropriate Invoices and Personnel Change Notices (PCN)
- Support the Leave Center of Excellence by performing initial intake and providing documentation, as needed
- Support the Benefits Center of Excellence by guiding employees to resources and coordinating events.
- Follow-up on missing paperwork for employees and contractors
- Brainstorm topics with team, plan events, and conduct trainings as appropriate
- Serve as backup for HR Business Partner
- Develop and maintain trusted advisor relationship with business leadership
- Provide expertise in the following areas: employee relations, performance management, compensation and rewards, learning and development, recognition programs and data analysis
- Provide day-to-day coaching and guidance to leaders in the organization
- Provide timely information and/or education to all levels of the organization on HR related topics
- Partner with HR Analyst to identify trends and utilize data, metrics and analytics to guide decision making and provide proactive solutions to the organization
- Solve problems and get to the root cause of any issue, no matter how complex.
- 0-2+ years professional work experience preferably in Human Resources
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration or related field preferred
- Knowledge of general HR practices, employment laws and regulations (local, state, and federal)
- Hands on experience with an HRIS (preferably PeopleSoft)
- Ability to thrive and prioritize in a fast paced, high-growth, changing environment
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills with expertise in employee relations
- Proven ability to use data and analytics to diagnose problems using strategic thinking skills design and implement appropriate solutions
- Demonstrated ability to partner with different levels of the organization to achieve results
- Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills
- Demonstrated ability to practice a high level of confidentiality
- Excellent organization and detail skills, able to meet deadlines, and ability to work independently and professionally and follow through on work assignments
- Proficient with a variety of computer software applications such as Microsoft Office

- Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
- Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach daily

- Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment
- Hours regularly 40 hours per week, as work dictates, from a hybrid office location near the Houston Corporate Office
