Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an opening for an Associate Manufacturing Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Moss Point, MS. facility. We are a world-class manufacturer of composite structures, radomes, and antenna systems for military applications. We design and manufacturer solutions for our war fighters to keep our country safe and maintain peace on a global scale.

This role will support manufacturing of metallic and composite structures, repairs, work instructions and shop aids. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Interpreting customer furnished drawings and specifications and author work instructions for fabrication, and working closely with program office, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, training, and operations to solve production high driver defects.

As a part of the IPT (Integrated Product Team) the ideal candidate will be self-reliable, have excellent interpersonal communication skills, be able to interpret and communicate data analysis via email with the IPT, and must be able to communicate rapid solutions when issues arise within production on the assembly line.

  • This position requires the ability to work night-shifts Monday-Thursday from 4:30pm – 3:00am and will work a 4/10 schedule with every Friday off.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Manage, manufacturing bill of materials
  • Create manufacturing plans and detailed work instructions
  • Review engineering designs and drawings for accuracy and manufacturability
  • Provide redlines and/or updating manufacturing work instructions on the shop floor
  • Continuously work to improve manufacturing methods, efficiency, and product quality

Basic Qualifications for Associate Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; may consider an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • Basic understanding of metallic or composites fabrication (i.e., drilling, countersinking, repairs, fastener installation, etc.)
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting Blueprints and/or 3-D models
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to obtain Secret DoD clearance and Special Programs Access

Basic Qualifications for Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years’ manufacturing experience OR a master’s degree; may consider an additional 6 years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • Basic understanding of metallic and composites fabrication (i.e., drilling, countersinking, repairs, and fastener installation, etc.)
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting Blueprints and/or 3-D models
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to obtain Secret DoD clearance and Special Programs Access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • STEM Degree (Science, Technical, Engineering or Mathematical)
  • Experience with process improvements, Developing Process Work instructions
  • Knowledge with Manufacturing Tools, Sanding/spraying operations
  • Experience working hands-on in a production assembly line environment
  • Experience providing innovative techniques focused on improving product designs and tooling assemblies or equipment
  • Metallic and composite experience and process knowledge
  • Current and active Secret or Top-Secret clearance
  • Ability to interface with multiple levels of leadership, clients, and vendors
  • Experience with external suppliers, designing/modifying customer designs to meet end use purpose


Salary Range: $55,100 USD - $82,700 USD
Salary Range 2: $66,600 USD - $99,800 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
