The Associate Director of Communications - Brand Experience will work collaboratively with the Communications and Healthy Living teams to develop innovative, relevant, original, and high-quality creative content to be used across multiple platforms and channels for the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City. The candidate should have strong writing and editing skills, and be creative, organized, reliable, and willing and able to meet strict deadlines. The Associate Director of Communications will work side by side with the Healthy Living and Communication teams to produce measurable results on specific initiatives while working to position the Y as a cause-driven organization focusing on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility for all.

This is a fulltime salaried position with a salary range of $46,000-$50,000 depending on experience.

Essential Job Functions

  • Foster a collaborative team environment between Communications team and community partners
  • Develop marketing content and collateral relevant to the operation of the health & wellness program
  • Focus on enhancing YMCA membership experiences through digital platforms and product offerings
  • Help create and execute promotion and publicity plans with for wellness and fitness programs, community events and partnerships.
  • Consistently drive innovation by staying current with trends and new ideas for content management and process improvements

  • Growth in innovative programs and community events that champion wellness and reach our members and community beyond the walls of our Y’s
  • The Y’s digital content and digital products will increase community access to health and wellness, improve member experiences and add value to Y membership plans
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, integrated marketing, communications, new media, or related field
  • Three years of successful experience in digital content creation or communications field
  • Passion for health and wellness or related experience, a bonus
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Training in multimedia and communications, proficient in video editing software programs, digital equipment, and knowledge of new and cutting-edge technology
  • Proven ability to be an innovative, creative, proactive, and analytical
  • Working knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and WordPress, Business Suite
  • Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with community partners, staff members at all levels in person, through email and over the phone
