Job description
- Review policies and regulations pertaining to the department.
- Screen, review, negotiate and process policies, contracts and other obligations that the hospital may enter into.
- In conjunction with General Counsel, approve the legal aspects of settlements, finalization of contracts and negotiations.
- Reviews subpoenas, garnishments and other legal documents.
- Provide legal review of vendor documents, settlements and releases and stipulations.
- Coordinate legal services with external providers as necessary.
- Perform investigations to determine facts and legal issues that need to be addressed.
- Review policies and procedures related to human resources, compliance, patient financial services, contracts and other areas as needed.
- Review and coordinate work activities with Paralegals as needed.
- Perform other duties as required.

Juris Doctor required.

Minimum of five (5) years legal experience in a complex healthcare setting is required.

Contract negotiation experience preferred.

Experience leading and coordinating work with others, such as Paralegal position.

Good attention to detail.

Strong contract writing skills.

Proven and effective communication skills.

Admission to the New York State Bar

Ability to work long hours.

Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
