Position Summary
Develop and execute strategic internal communications plans and initiatives that support the company's Purpose and Promise, Kroger Health function and overall business strategy and priorities, and the behavior changes needed to achieve them. Essential Job Functions
- Increase associates' commitment to and engagement with Kroger Health strategy and overall business strategy; create plans and messages for associates and key partners
- Lead planning process and communications strategies that inspire associates to adopt behaviors that improve the customer experience
- Contribute to the Corporate Affairs storytelling engine, on internal and external communication channels, by creating content that helps to connects associates to Our Purpose and drives the business strategy
- Create compelling stories and partner with KTV on videos to support key Kroger Health initiatives
- Advise and coach leaders on opportunities to enhance two-way communication and drive associate engagement, champion change and execution of strategy
- Support Head of Communications Kroger Health team with external communication through press releases, media requests, thought leadership speaking opportunities and the planning and execution of media events
- Serve as primary department web content manager for company intranet and as a resource for department content managers; help measure/improve intranet use/content effectiveness
- Work with department subject matter experts to deliver simple and impactful communications to help associates and leaders understand their roles
- Maintain communication standards and consult with key department stakeholders to ensure all communication adheres to our direct to store communication process
- Ensure all communication and storytelling adheres to company's brand guidelines, communication standards, and tone of voice
- Lead community management and content creation for department group on internal business social network as well as any other digital and social channels
- Work with Associate Communications team to accelerate communications research and measurement to improve the team's overall effectiveness
- Work with division associate communication & engagement (ACE) managers on projects and communications

Minimum Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in communications, marketing, journalism or related field
- 3+ years of experience in internal and/or corporate communications
- Any media, social media and digital content development experience
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong oral/written communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
- Proven track record of teamwork, innovation and delivery of business communication results
- Consulting and influencing skills
- Ability to interact and influence at all levels of an organization
- Creative approach to strategic problem-solving, messaging and communication delivery
Desired Previous Experience/Education
- 5+ years internal, external and/or corporate communication experience
- Any experience with a unionized workforce
- Any experience in a retail environment
