Experience
Six years’ experience in patient care management including nursing management is required. Experience in managing clinical
services in a managed care environment, including productivity enhancement, cost reduction, new program development, and
quality management is also required. Must demonstrate the ability to affect good medical staff relations while working with highly

Education/Training
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- Graduate degree in Business or health-related field required.
- It is required that candidate must hold either a baccalaureate or a higher degree in nursing.
Licensure/Certification
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
- National leadership board certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Organization for

- Develops and implements mechanisms to ensure a uniform quality of nursing and patient care wherever nursing and patient
- Establishes mechanisms to encourage research and to incorporate research findings into standards of practice and policies and
- Measures actual budgetary performance (revenue, expense, staffing) against standards, and ensures variances are within

- Participates in corporate and hospital policy decisions that affect patient care.
- Participates as a member of the Corporate Nursing Executive Council.
- Develops, interprets, and promotes the formation of the philosophy, policies, and procedures of Orlando Health.
- Develops and implements operational plans for the hospital in conjunction and consistent with the overall Orlando Health
- Establishes and maintains an open and positive working relationship with board members, physicians, managers, employees,

- Participates in the Quality Assessment and Improvement Program of Orlando Health and assures compliance of assigned areas
- Works with CNO to develop, implement, evaluate, and revise nursing practice, and assures implementation of the nursing
- Assists in the professional development of staff.
- Maintains, revises, and implements changes in nursing and patient care policies and procedures to meet all licensing agency
- Develops hospital budget for patient care area with input from managers and other hospital staff. Develops a nursing budget
department in which nursing care is provided.
- Establishes budget requirements and maintains areas of responsibility within budgetary limitation.
- Speaks on behalf of hospital nursing services in established meetings of hospital leadership, medical staff, and governing bodies.
- Develops staff to make effective decisions and delegates authority to lowest appropriate level.
- Acts as resource person and role model for all staff.
- Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues related to patient care and unit function, and manages situations to reduce risk to
- Supports all policies, procedures, goals, and objectives of Orlando Health.
