Flora Legal Group is an Indianapolis-based immigration firm committed to serving the immigrant community. We are seeking an experienced Associate Attorney with a heart and passion to help immigrants and a desire to thrive in a large, team-oriented immigration practice. To succeed in this role, you will need to possess enthusiasm for immigration law, strong interpersonal and communication skills, exceptional research, writing, and time management skills, and the ability to work independently with little supervision. Fluency in both Spanish and English is highly preferred but we are willing to interview candidates who do not speak Spanish but are otherwise experienced in the field of immigration law.
Key Responsibilities:
- Appear in immigration court representing clients in removal proceedings, primarily at the Chicago Immigration Court. Appear in immigration court in the Indianapolis Immigration Court upon its opening in the fall of 2023.
- Meet regularly and communicate effectively with clients. Prepare clients for trial.
- Conduct client consultations.
- Conduct effective legal research.
- Responsible for overseeing and reviewing casework involving immigration applications, petitions, and waivers that are filed with the Immigration Court, USCIS, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
- Compose legal documents, such as complex briefs, appeals, and motions.
Qualifications:
- Must be a licensed attorney in good standing to apply; Juris Doctorate required.
- Immigration law experience required, especially in the area of removal defense. The ideal candidate will be registered with EOIR and will be able to practice before the immigration court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
- Fluent in Spanish (reading, writing, speaking) strongly preferred but not required.
- Passion for immigration law.
- Have excellent communication skills and enjoy helping people.
- Be self-motivated, intellectually curious, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Enjoy continuous learning in a fast-paced and friendly work environment.

We are open to hiring applicants who live in or are willing to relocate to either the greater Indianapolis, IN area or the greater Chicago, IL area. Relocation fees are negotiable.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
