BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:
The Product Manager, Customer Solutions Productivity will lead the product vision and agile development of our customer productivity and performance visualization products. At MSC, a significant and growing percentage of our revenues are generated from customers who are using at least one of our inventory management or procurement solutions. Our customers are demanding increased performance visibility and documented savings and effective deployment of these differentiated capabilities will drive increased customer acquisition and retention.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: *
Delivers product vision, requirements and development strategy for MSC’s Customer Solutions Productivity capabilities * Implements disciplined processes to Identify gaps in the product portfolio and opportunities to leapfrog competitors capabilities * Builds micro-roadmaps that align with MSC’s strategic objectives by bringing in key stakeholder inputs including voice of customer, SME feedback, competitive landscape, market research and data-driven insights. * Gathers internal and external customer needs, identify critical opportunities, and prioritize new capabilities and enhancements that are technically and financially viable and bring quantifiable value with speed. * Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define scope, budget and Go-to-Market strategies that ensure superior execution and maximize impact and growth. * Creates and refines artifacts such as use cases, user stories, and process flows to communicate features and associated value proposition to both the engineering teams and all stakeholders. * Manages and drives the short-term feature delivery schedule – through leading cross functional efforts from design, development and testing to communication, training and collateral development for launch, as well as ongoing support and measurement. * Identifies and raises issues that may compromise success of feature delivery and user adoption. * Tightly aligns with key associate stakeholders and SME’s on product roadmap expansion and enhancement prioritization. Must make sure that operations can maintain world-class service for expanding portfolio * Encourages and promotes operating in a continuous improvement environment * Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose. * Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required. *INDICATES ESSENTIAL DUTIES To perform this job successfully an associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Statistics, Marketing or a related field is required; Master’s degree is preferred ? Minimum of five years of experience in Product Management working with technical, business and design teams is required ? Six Sigma and Lean experience preferred
SKILLS:
Ability to work successfully with diverse groups of stakeholders ? Ability to influence others without directly span of control ? Strong analytical and quantitative skills. Ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases ? Excellent organizational skills including the ability to establish prioritization ? Experience in data analytics and creating data-driven insights is required. ? Must possess outstanding communication skills - verbal, written, presentation - and be able to present to large groups including senior management and customers. ? Organized and creative problem solver – ability to analyze complex data and user requests into simple design approved solutions. ? Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp new technology, and complex workflows. ? Ability to interact with Engineers and Designers on technical topics to identify best possible decisions. ? Able to navigate organization and build key alliances to effectively bring product to market ? Must be proficient in MS Office, Project Management and collaboration Tools
