Supernal World Creations is a fast-growing 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization looking for a skilled Assistant Video Editor to support our Video Production Creative team liaising between the Video Directors, Videographers, and Colorists, and the Creative Director to expedite the successful post-production of a vast library of trail-blazing nature video clips.

Our ideal candidate will work closely with the Creative Director and the Video Production Creative team to effectively communicate and provide feedback to the contracted Video Directors, Videographers, and Colorists, have successful previous experience in similar roles, extensive experience working with nature footage, great visual skills and is proficient with non-linear editing programs and basic understanding of coloring correction theory. Can translate the Creative Director’s idea to achieve a beautifully crafted nature video piece worthy of broadcasting.

This position requires availability on weekends and evenings as needed due to the fast-paced, highly productive environment and short turnaround for publication. All work will be done remotely.

Required Qualifications/Skills

· Proven career focus and experience working with nature footage and video clips.

· Proficient in Mac and PC environments.

· Understanding Color Correction Theory and techniques for better quality control.

· Deadline and detail-oriented, organized, consistent, and dependable.

· Keen attention to detail.

· Strong interpersonal skills.

· Comfortable working independently and interacting with other team members happening virtually via email or chat.

· Ability to work on a tight schedule.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills

· Basic Knowledge of various Color Grading platforms

· 1-3 years of proven experience in post-production environments.

· Self-motivated.

· Proactive.

· Ability to prioritize.

· Team Player.

Responsibilities include

· Implement guidelines established by the Creative Director regarding content and the final product.

· Communicate with Video Directors, Videographers, and Colorists regarding deadlines and the Creative Director’s expectations for the final product.

· Review and log raw and colored video footage.

· Select clips and generate shot lists.

· Supervise the raw master footage from various vendors. Ensure it has been submitted according to the organization’s standards.

· Upload raw footage masters onto the organization’s Google drive.

· Review and log iterations of the coloring process of the footage.

· Receive and incorporate feedback from the Creative Director throughout the review process.

· Generate review documents for the Colorist to include clear guidelines to achieve the Creative Director’s desired outcome for the final versions of the colored footage.

Education

Associates Degree (Required)

Bachelor’s degree in film, Broadcasting or Communications (Preferred)
