JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Floater for all Classrooms. Hours are 2:00pm - 6:00pm Part Time Only.

REPORTS TO: Director and/or Assistant Director and/or Lead Classroom Teacher

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Provide Support to the Lead Teaching staff to ensure children have a safe and consistent learning and developmental environment.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

· Report to lead teaacher upon arrival for daily assignment

· Work as a team member to meet the needs of the children’s classroom and center as a whole

· Meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child

· When appropriate, participate in open communication with parents

· Maintain confidentiality

· Clean and arrange classroom environment in accordance to program goals and philosophy

· Maintain a safe and healthy environment

· Inspect and replace damaged or lost materials

· Attend staff meetings

· Meet all applicable licensing regulations

· Daily assignments may include coverage for other staff during breaks, clean toys and educational materials, clean common areas such as bathrooms, kitchen, break room and outdoor play areas, remove garbage, inventory supplies, organize art and supplies cabinet

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

· Must meet State of North Carolina requirements as a childcare center worker

· Must be CPR/First Aid certified

· Ongoing professional development in the field of child development preferred

· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

· Demonstrate organizational abilities

· Ability to build rapport with families and community members

· Must meet physical requirements of the job including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $10.50 per hour
