JOB DESCRIPTION

Preschool Assistant/Float

PURPOSE: To assist and support to the Lead Teacher in the room.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to communicate with a variety of people and be supportive of different families and cultures
• Ability to problem solve quickly
• Be flexible and able to shift gears and go with the flow as needed
• Ability to lift children and also get up and down from the floor
• Ability to work with the director and staff as a team player
• An abundance of creativity, enthusiasm, patience and love for children
• Ability to maintain a clean and orderly environment
• Some experience and skills in parenting issues
• Has an interest in continuing in the field
• A heart for God and service

SUPERVISION: Reports to the Director of Summit Early Learning Center

WORK WEEK: Approximately 40 hours beginning Fall of 2021

POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Full-time or part-time

COMPENSATION: Hourly $12.58-$14.50 depending on experience and education

BENEFITS: As described in the Summit Early Learning Center Employee Handbook

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Interact with the children and model loving and appropriate behaviors for children and parents
• Supervise the arrival and dismissal of children and communicate with parents
• Oversee and be responsible for the duties of an aide if one is needed
• Attend staff meetings, stay current on CPR and 1stAide, Mandatory Reporting, Standard Precautions and have 15 hours of appropriate continuing education each calendar year
• Set up an account on Professional Development Information System (PDIS). We can assist with this step.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
