The Department of Social Work at Western Carolina University invites application for a 9-month tenure track Social Work faculty position with employment beginning in January 2023 or August 2023. Four positions are available.

Rank will be at the Assistant level. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until a candidate has been selected for hire.

Qualifications include a MSW and a doctorate in Social Work or a related field completed on or before December 31, 2023. Candidates should demonstrate a well-developed research agenda and a commitment to scholarship, teaching, and service.

Duties include teaching graduate and undergraduate Social Work courses, conducting research, publishing and presenting in professional venues, seeking extramural funding, advising students, and service to the department, college, and university.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
Minimum Qualifications
MSW from a CSWE accredited social work program and enrollment in a doctoral program.

Preferred Qualifications
An earned doctorate in social work or other related field and at least 5 years practice experience.
