Job Summary
The Department of Quantitative Business Studies is seeking applications for a non-tenure eligible Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice in Accounting and Finance and Director of Banking Program position. The expected start is August 14, 2023. The College of Business is fully accredited by AACSB international -The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Responsibilities
- Teach accounting and finance courses at the undergraduate level and graduate level on both campuses (Westville and Hammond). Examples of classes include but are not limited to: Introductory accounting and finance courses; Management of Financial Institutions; Financial Reporting and Compliance; and graduate courses as the need arises. Normal teaching load is three 3-credit hour courses per semester.
- Serve as the director of the banking program
- serve as principal program representative to potential applicants, current students and the general public regarding program policies, procedures, requirements and goals.
- plan and implement recruiting and promotional strategies to ensure the vibrancy of the program.
- provide academic, career and personal counseling to applicants and students; monitors student progress to ensure a successful learning experience.
- engage students through innovative curricula and learning approaches; manage the curriculum change process to maintain the currency, relevancy and sustainability of the program.
- interact with Indiana Bankers Association (IBA), regional banks and businesses to identify and cultivate fund raising opportunities.
- provide vital links and establish relationships with the business community designed to: (1) increase internship opportunities and (2) increase job placements in industry/government/not-for-profit.
Education
- Must have a Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from an AACSB accredited business school.
- CPA, CMA, CFA, CFP, or other relevant professional certification is strongly desired.
- A minimum of one-year teaching experience at the college level or extensive professional training experience is required.
- Candidates should have five or more years of relevant professional experience in banking industry.
