The Department of Communication and Media at SUNY Oneonta is a thriving community of teachers, scholars, artists, and practitioners with a mission to foster critical, collaborative, creative communicators and active, informed citizens who contribute meaningfully to their communities. The Department offers two majors - Communication Studies and Media Studies - with nearly 350 majors, 15 full-time faculty, and 10 part-time faculty members. Media Studies graduates find careers in traditional media and entertainment fields including film, television, radio and podcasting, publishing, print and online journalism, and digital content production and marketing, as well as many positions in the education, health, and nonprofit sectors.
