Missisquoi Valley Union Middle/High School has an immediate opening for an Assistant Musical Director. This position aids the Musical Director in the production of MVUs Musical. The production occurs in April. However, there could be responsibilities related to the position all year round.The Assistant Musical Director: *Helps to coordinate, and supervise musical rehearsals. This includes leading warm-ups, leading groups of students, and making sure students are supervised at all times when rehearsals are happening. *Attends auditions and helps the director make casting decisions. *Helps to direct the backstage crew, props, costumes, lights, sound, and advertising, in their duties and responsibilities.
- Creates and establishes relationships with the cast, crew, and volunteers, to create a positive and motivated atmosphere. *Assists with purchasing, budgets, and the paperwork involved. *Help to coordinate and establish a wide variety of fundraising opportunities. *Manages student behavior so the Director, and other adult leaders can do their jobs as smoothly as possible.
- Helps to create, organize, and clean the props and costumes as needed for the production. *Attends most rehearsals, set building (weekends), and the production. *Other duties that the Director assigns.
