Summary/Objective

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for meeting sales goals and assisting the Store Manager with day-to-day operations, product placement, client service, employee supervision, and loss prevention.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate cash registers, manage financial transactions, and balance drawers
  • Meet sales targets
  • Coach and motivate staff to meet sales goals
  • Provide outstanding customer service to all patrons
  • Ensures store and stockroom are well organized
  • Assist in visual presentation standards and ensure the store is replenished at all times
  • Maintain compliance with Retail Operations Policy and Procedures
  • Adhere to and enforce company handbook policies
  • Participate in store opening and closing procedures
  • Manage merchandise processing, including tracking of company assets through inventory control
  • Assist with staff scheduling and training
  • Assist with the protection of all company assets, controlling internal and external loss
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, based on the needs of the business
  • Other duties as required
Travel
  • This position requires limited travel (0-25%)
Qualifications and Requirements
  • High School diploma
  • Minimum of three years of Retail Sales experience; one year of management experience
  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week; weekends, nights and holidays as needed.
  • Must work a minimum of two closing shifts per week
  • Demonstrated selling skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
  • The ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
