Assistant Superintendent / Field Engineer

Our client is a Central Indiana construction firm which is seeking an Assistant Superintendent / Field Engineer who will help facilitate project delivery and administrative requirements related to planning, management and communication through effective day-to-day administration and coordination of projects. This individual will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and other project team members.

Assistant Superintendent / Field Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Field measurements
  • Assist the Superintendent & Project Manager to maintain project schedule file distribute as necessary
  • Subcontractor Meeting (SCM) documentation
  • Thoroughly photograph the progress of construction
  • Produce sketches as required
  • Review drawings, submittals, shop drawings
  • Distribute new or updated drawings and specifications
  • Maintain Quality Assurance and Control tracking mechanisms & checklists
  • Maintain testing & inspection logs
  • Produce RFI’s
  • As-builts
  • Redlines
  • Field Change Cost and T&M Tracking
  • Create or assist in the creation of the Pre-Punchlist
  • Document Pre-& Final Punchlist
  • Maintain field office drawings & documents
  • Process Field Observation Forms
  • MEP Field Coordination
  • Drawing/Constructability Reviews

Assistant Superintendent / Field Engineer Requirements

  • Team oriented
  • Ability to identify and communicate process improvement solutions
  • Problem solving
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Knowledge of, or ability to become proficient in, Construction Management and industry software such as Procore, Planswift and MS Project
  • Must have valid driver's license and good driving record

Assistant Superintendent / Field Engineer Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a construction related field (i.e., construction management, civil engineering, etc.)
  • Two-year construction related degree or trade certificate, and/or equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Commercial, healthcare, education and industrial / manufacturing experience preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $72,200.00 - $80,000.00 per year

  • Associate (Required)

Experience:

  • in the field construction: 2 years (Required)
  • large project construction in excess of $5M: 1 year (Preferred)
  • ground-up construction: 1 year (Required)
  • concrete construction: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Multifamily construction: 1 year (Preferred)
  • healthcare construction: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (Required)
