Job description

The job requires the candidate to make rods, chains, pins, and miscellaneous parts to assemble flatbeds or service bodies, as well as install door rubber, latches, handles, locks, ladder racks, roller drawers, and open tops. Worker will Remove/add tags or marks, and move finished work. Move workpieces, tools, and supplies, manually or with overhead crane. Pick up scrap from all work areas. Candidate must be able to work independently and follow oral and written directions.
Essential Functions

1.Create/assemble rods, misc. parts as per work order specs.
2.Measure, cut, grind, bend, and punch holes in materials.
3.Install door rubber, latches, locks, roller drawers, open tops.
4.Remove or add tags/markings to materials.
5.Move materials manually or with overhead crane.
6.Must have some basic tools like ratchets, wrenches, pliers, sockets etc.
7.Works in a fast pace environment.
8.Picks up scrap from work areas.
Competencies

1.Proficient in reading a measuring tape.
2.Must be able to learn quickly and work efficiently
3.Must be able to read work orders.
4.Must be able to select correct tools and/parts.
5.Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Work Environment

This job operates in a shop production environment. Includes exposure to contaminants. Exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32 F degrees) temperatures. Exposure to minor burns, cuts, bites, or stings. Requires exposure to hazardous equipment and conditions. Requires work with others in a group or team. Requires coordinating or leading others in accomplishing work activities. Includes responsibility for the health and safety of others. Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment. Requires wearing specialized protective or safety equipment.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, 40 hours a week; hours may vary from 6:00 a.m. to 2:40PM plus overtime, occasional Saturday work.
Must pass pre-employment drug test, and physical

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
