Metro Public Safety & Investigations is accepting applications for Class A Armed Security Officers to fill all shifts. Class A Armed Security Officers will be required to provide your own duty gear, which includes, but not limited to; duty belt, Firearm with 3 magazines, level two or higher holster, 2 mag pouch, 2 pairs of handcuffs with case(s), OC Spray with holder, flashlight with holder, expandable baton with holder, and black boots. Metro will supply the uniform pants, shirt(s), badge, radio, etc. as needed per position.

Experience not mandatory but is preferred. You must be able to obtain an Armed Class A Commission from the Kansas City Missouri Police Department and any other required licensing for the city in which you will work. To obtain a commission, you cannot have any felony charges, weapons violations, violent or sexual offenses, and must not be on probation.

Work is performed at various properties with the potential exposure to environmental conditions, inclement weather, unpredictable crisis situations, and possible combative individuals. This position requires standing and/or walking for extended periods of time, potentially strenuous physical activities; possibly requiring lifting and/or carrying of objects up to 50 lbs.; patrolling parking lots, scanning for damaged property, while documenting activities that occur while on duty, and securing the property to deter criminal activity. All Full-Time employees will be offered Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance along with Supplementary Insurance through Aflac at 90-days of employment. Paid Time Off (PTO) will also be offered after 1 year of employment.

• Applicants must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, college preferred.
• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
• Applicants must have good working knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a business environment, and enforcement procedures.
• Applicant must have the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally & in writing, with staff, clients, and the general public; ability to understand and follow standard operating procedures; ability to perform duties in a professional manner & appearance; ability to write & investigate required reports; ability to make independent and intelligent judgement decisions within proper policy & procedures, and the ability to maintain any valid licenses that may be required.
