Great opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner to join the St. Elizabeth Heart & Vascular Institute. This full time opportunity in a nocturnist position to take primary call for general cardiology and assist with working up incoming consults and discharging appropriate patients.
Evening/night- 12hr shifts, 3 days on 4 days off.

The Nurse Practitioner has advanced knowledge and skills that qualify her/him to function as a primary health care provider. She/he serves as a member of a collaborative health care team. This collaborative role includes responsibility for determining the patient’s health and medical status by taking a health history; performing physical exams; initiating screening and diagnostic procedures. Consults with cardiologist on call and other physicians, as appropriate, keeping the physician informed of needs and problems related to patient care.

rdance with established collaborative practice agreement and evidence based guidelines, the APRN obtains health histories, performs physical examinations, identifies problems, establishes goals, and formulates comprehensive plans of care for patients and teaches preventive health measures. Functions as a facilitator to coordinate clinical care, educate patients and families, and support collaboration between various disciplines and agencies as necessary.

MINIMUM
DESIRABLE

Education, Credentials, Licenses:
Master’s degree in nursing with National Nurse Practitioner Certification in appropriate specialty area. (Nurse Practitioner by a national certifying organization recognized by the Board of Nursing in the state where work is being performed (including the following areas: Acute Care, Adult, Adult Psych Mental Health, Child/Adolescent Psych Mental Health, Community Health, Critical Care, Family, Family Psych Mental Health, Gerontological, Medical/Surgery, Neonatal, Oncology, Pediatric, School, and/or Women’s Health)
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Licensed as an RN in the state where work is being performed
Requires Certificate of Authority and Standard Care Arrangement with collaborating physician to practice as a nurse practitioner. Must have medical staff privileges as an allied health professional.
Valve Center APP only = Must have ACLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Specialized Knowledge:
Demonstrated skills and knowledge as a Nurse Practitioner in area of expertise.

Applicable certification(s)

Kind and Length of Experience:
5 years of experience as a registered nurse.

Work as a registered nurse in a hospital setting in the areas of medicine, critical care, emergency or surgery.
