The Apprenticeship Recruiter / Career Coach is responsible for recruitment of early career candidates across an assigned spectrum of roles, geographies and/or functions. These roles are likely to include both higher-volume entry level along with some recruitment of candidates to higher level individual positions. Accountabilities include developing recruitment strategies, acting as a consultant to Hiring Managers throughout the hiring process, and delivering on expected hiring goals. The Recruiter manages the process, selection, offer, negotiation, closing and administrative components involved in making an early careers hire. The Recruiter is also accountable for managing interactions with candidates in accordance with employment law and in a manner that fosters transparency, simplicity and respect.

As a new Apprentice Recruitment Project Leader, we will teach you about our non-profit business and the key role of Project Leader. You will be responsible for assigned apprenticeship programs working in partnership with the Program Instructor and will provide mentoring and support to apprenticeship program participants.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Consult complex business groups by leveraging hiring teams to develop and execute recruitment strategies to support hiring needs
  • Partner with recruiting coordinator to manage job postings and understand various candidate tracking programs
  • Bring an innovative lens to the apprenticeship recruitment strategy process by leveraging talent Intelligence tools to continuously recruit top talent and remain competitive in the marketplace
  • Responsible for communications with the apprenticeship teams (hiring manager) throughout the recruitment process, acting as a consultant and influencing stakeholders to drive for the best solution while leveraging data to drive outcomes and proactively communicate recruitment trends
  • Assess candidates through interview process, attending career fairs when possible, and assist with the organization and execution of office visits for final selection of candidates
  • Responsible for communications with candidates throughout recruitment process, managing interactions in accordance with employment law and in a manner that fosters transparency, simplicity and respect
  • Implement and execute pre-employment candidate engagement strategy
  • Work with recruiting coordinator to initiate offer and candidate processing including background check and drug screening
  • Identify areas for improvements and proactively identify solutions that can improve the greater early careers recruitment team
  • Support broader talent acquisition projects

Recruitment Phase - Program Outreach & Selection:

  • Develop the marketing plan within a set budget to advertise the apprenticeship training opportunity to a select demographic area and coordinate the placement of radio/newspaper/social ads
  • Coordinate and answer questions of candidates via phone, email, in-person as they proceed through the recruitment and selection process maintaining applicant data in a database
  • Work with program and hiring employer-partner to reserve resources and coordinate recruitment and selection events details
  • Prepare materials for selection events in partnership with employer-partner
  • Attend and oversee program info session events, including preparing materials, proctoring assessments, and participating in interviews
  • Prepare documents and manage enrollment of final list of selected students, compile applicant statistics and track successful sources for applicants

Education Phase - Training Program:

  • Attend class as an observer and support Program Instructor's needs, including grading homework submissions, preparing weekly student evaluations using feedback from the Instructor, and generating a daily update for each day of class
  • Help facilitate student access to support services (reach-up, WIOA support, and other agency support)
  • Meet weekly one-on-one with students to supply feedback and as necessary for immediate feedback needs. Providing mentoring and individualized support as required to help the student succeed

Apprenticeship Phase:

  • Attend monthly reviews with apprentices and supervisors to address any behavioral or technical issues with students
  • Collect reporting paperwork for grant files, OJT reimbursement, apprenticeship records

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or HS diploma/GED with 4+ years of equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of recruiting or human resource experience
  • 2+ years working in a corporate environment or agency recruiting firm
  • Experiences working with Microsoft excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Living in a commutable distance to our Las Vegas, NV location

  • Ability to communicate to various audiences and Senior Leadership
  • Experience recruiting for early careers programs
  • Experience working with Taleo Applicant Tracking System
  • Experience working with Salesforce or equivalent candidate relationship management (CRM) system

Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
