This position is a hybrid of both office and remote work environments. The duties of this position can primarily be performed remotely. However, candidates must live in the state of Oregon and have the ability to report to our central office in Salem (required 8 days a year).

Your New Role – Application Developer
Our work is meaningful. You’ll be supporting an agency completing critical forestry work across the state. Oregon is proud of its forests, and our staff are proud of the work we accomplish to protect, manage, and promote forest stewardship.
The Application Developer will provide overall Department-wide application design, development, and user support. This position will work with Department staff to define:
- User requirements,
- Application design,
- Programming,
- Error checking,
- Beta testing,
- Training, and
- Ongoing user support.
This is What You Need to Qualify for the ISS6 position:
Five years of information systems experience in: application development and data management;
OR
OR
An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field,
OR
Completion of a two year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field, AND three years of information systems experience in: application development and data management.
OR
OR
Completion of a two year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field, AND three years of information systems experience in: application development and data management.
OR
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, AND one year of information systems experience in: application development and data management.
This is What You Need to Qualify for the ISS5 underfill option – You will need to meet the qualifications for the ISS6 within 24 months of hire:
Four (4) years of information systems experience in application development and data management;
Or
An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field AND, two years of information systems experience in: application development and data management;
OR
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field may substitute for all of the above.

Desired Skills:
- Extensive experience in the design and development of multi-tiered software applications.
- Experience in application development using C#.NET, JavaScript, other programming languages and web-based applications.
- Working knowledge of the .NET framework for application development and must be able to develop applications using Microsoft Visual Studio.
- Experience with Team Foundation Server/DevOps for the purpose of source code control and to track code bugs/issues/tasks.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written format, with persons that have various levels of application development and computer knowledge.
