API Testing Engineer 14301

A leading tech company is seeking an API Testing Engineer. The successful candidate will use API testing tools to test robust request/response API scenarios. The ideal candidate has strong API Testing skills along with Functional Testing. The company offers a great work environment!

API Testing Engineer Pay and Benefits:

• Hourly pay: $40/hr

• 40 hours/week, 5 Month Assignment

API Testing Engineer Responsibilities:

• Use API testing tools to test robust request/response API scenarios.
• Partner with software engineers to create a complete API library.
• Participate in the testing process for various systems in the bank.
• Develop and execute all levels of testing, including hands-on testing.
• Evaluate and test new or modified software programs to verify that the programs function according to user story requirements.
• Review technical requirements to form test plans and test cases.
• Interact with business and technology representatives at all levels within the organization.
• Create data mapping documentation, process flows and detailed test cases and scripts for assigned projects.
• Find issues within applications and enter them into a defect tracking system.

API Testing Engineer Qualifications:

• 5+ years of API software development or API testing experience, hands-on experience is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
• Experience with API tools required: Postman, JMeter, RapidAPI, REST-assured, SoapUI or other tools.
• Strong knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures employed in quality assurance discipline (e.g., test plans, test cases, metrics) is required.
• Strong knowledge of XML, JSON and REST is required.
• Understanding the concepts of API testing related to Parameter Combination, Parameter Selection, and Call Sequencing.
• Proficient in black box testing techniques (equivalence class testing, boundary value testing and decision table testing).
• Results and detail-oriented individual who can work independently with minimal supervision.
• Banking/Financial Services experience is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps Test Pro/MTM/TFS is preferred.
• Requires initiative, judgment and the ability to perform with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Ability and willingness to work overtime.
