Summary
This position is critical to the entire airline operation and provides support to OCC, and Maintenance Control, and provides oversight and guidance to AOG Buyers in the shift who are responsible for maintaining 24/7/365 coverage on the AOG desk. The incumbent Supervisor AOG will provide leadership, training, and expertise to AOG buyers with respect to operationally critical material requirements and transportation to fulfill the requirement in the most efficient and cost-effective way, The Supervisor AOG works very closely with Director of Material Services, Manager AOG, Manager Material Purchasing, Manager Component Repairs, Director MX Operations Control and seeks their help and guidance from time to time to support the operation. Additionally, a close liaison needs to be maintained with Supply Operations and respective Stores Manager, GES & Tools Manager, and Supervisor, Logistics to ensure they provide the necessary support to the AOG desk. It is essential for AOG Supervisor to be compassionate about teamwork and communication skills for working closely to meet Materials Services Department objectives.

Minimum Requirements
A combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Must pass a Criminal Background Check.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience.
Years of Experience:
  • Minimum two (2) years experience with aviation purchasing/materials management and/or previous inventory or administrative experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years in a leadership role or demonstrated leadership skills.

Preferred Requirements
  • Familiarity with finance, accounting, and statistics.
  • Demonstrated skills in leading and mentoring a team of direct reports.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced 24/7 high-pressure environment.

Job Duties
  • Attend the daily operations meeting hosted by the OCC and provide the latest status on issues faced during the last 24 hours of the operation.
  • Lead the AOG buyers in their day-to-day activities and will be the first line of contact for AOG Buyers as and when they need assistance, guidance, decision, or approvals.
  • Schedule AOG Buyers' shifts appropriately to cover the 24/7 AOG Desk and make changes according to the workload. Arrange for coverage, as needed for AOG Buyer vacation and sick leave. Ensure sufficient workload distribution between AOG Buyers when possible and, at times, provide coverage for the AOG desk on an as-required basis.
  • Provide at all times full support to the AOG Buyers by providing guidance based on the technical expertise to resolve and expedite the decision to purchase, transfer, or exchange of a part to assist with the AOG situation. Assist AOG Buyers with proper market research required before sourcing of AOG parts, including identification of appropriate part numbers, effectivity and alternates, determination of service bulletin requirements and status, and most of all identify the supplier who should be able to fulfill the airline's urgent need.
  • Provide approval for purchases over AOG Buyer spending limit. In case the cost is also above his/her financial limit, solicit approval from the Director or Vice President.
  • Provide oversight to ensure AOG Buyers procure the parts, materials, and tooling as needed after doing proper market research and reviewing the previous part purchase history in AIS, and checking the component status with the repair vendor before taking an optimal decision in an expeditious manner.
  • Regularly monitor short-term expiring Deferred Maintenance Items (DMI) and ensure that parts still not ordered are requested by Material Planning and MX before these parts become AOG. Follow up as necessary with MX and Materials Planning.
  • Work closely with Manager Parts Procurement, Manager Component Repairs, and Manager Material Planning to make financial analysis that justifies purchase decisions in respect of rotatable items proposed by Engineering.
  • Oversee and negotiate the reciprocal purchase, loan, and exchange agreements with other airlines operating Airbus.
  • Track loans/borrowed/exchange items with airlines and suppliers to ensure they are returned to the appropriate provider in a timely manner to minimize cost.
  • Ensure that AOG Buyers procure parts/materials/tooling to meet AOG or critical aircraft needs at a fair market value by looking at purchase history in AIS and Aeroxchange Quote responses.
  • Build good communication lines with OCC, MX, Parts buyers, Repair analysts, various Stores personnel, and Material Planning regarding AOG and critical part requests. Based on the parts removal history from the aircraft, work with the Material Planning section to identify parts/material/tooling to increase stock levels to reduce AOG requests and AOS downtime. Analyze reports of AOS event timelines. Provide regular reporting and status updates to senior management.
  • Plan and provide regular refresher training and development opportunities to AOG Buyers.
  • Identify, develop, and implement process improvements. Identify any improvements or bugs in the working of the AIS, Aeroxchange, and other databases and work with the Director of Material Services to set the priorities.
  • Work with accounting to resolve any payment-related issues to ensure prompt payment of AOG-related invoices.
  • Work with Systems Analysts and IT to provide new tools and improve existing tools for AOG Buyers.
  • Develop and manage the training program and metrics relating to AOG Buyer performance and AOS events.
  • Ensure any direct reports understand and apply our Customer Commitment and customer service standards to their daily responsibilities as appropriate.
  • Model Allegiant’s customer service standards in personal actions and when providing leadership direction.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
