Summary
The Analyst - Purchasing (Food Promotions) is responsible for supporting the managers with tasks to profitably plan for all weekly and seasonal food promotions, based on market analysis and company objectives. This individual assists in proposing promotional items, planning sales, and setting retail prices for assigned promotional product categories as well as carrying out support functions for managers.
**Telework Policy allows for up to 5 days of work from home a week depending on business needs and manager discretion.**
What You’ll Do
- Support in planning and forecasting weekly and seasonal promotional assortments by the necessary deadlines
- Prepare promotional market analysis and propose new promotional products and strategy initiatives for assigned categories
- Analyze past sales to adapt and improve future planning
- Prepare weekly market pricing research for promotional items
- Accurately maintain item planning in the promotional planning system (APT)
- Review/confirm/maintain order data in German ordering system (FAP)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with supply chain, marketing, and purchasing administration departments to troubleshoot potential issues and ensure deadlines are met
- Proof and ensure information accuracy of items in the promotional leaflet and other marketing materials
- Monitor new product development timelines to ensure items can be planned for desired weeks
- Handle, respond to, and direct incoming correspondence and calls with corporate and international teams in a timely manner
- Perform other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
- In lieu of a bachelors degree, 5 years of experience in a related field is required
- 1-2 years of experience in a related field.
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, & Visio
- Strong financial acumen to help plan and achieve profitable promotions
- Strong time management skills to achieve deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Advanced German language skills
- This position commutes between stores, regional offices and/or distribution centers less than 25% of the time
