Encore Technologies is hiring for a AIX Administrator. This is a contract to hire role with one of our direct client in Cincinnati, OH and it is 100% remote.

Job Title: AIX Administrator
Location: 100% Remote
Position type: Contract to hire
Experience level: 6+ years
Job responsibilities:
- Configure file systems on AIX systems using Logical Volume Manager (LVM)
- Install, configure and troubleshooting the AIX OS
- Manage system backup/restores
- Perform AIX upgrades, patching, E-fixes
- Perform AIX system administration tasks such as LVM changes, add/delete disk space, fix security issues
- Perform hardware patching/upgrades
- Perform AIX troubleshooting
- AIX system performance tuning
- AIX system security
- On-call support rotation
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of AIX administration experience
- Strong knowledge of AIX (HMC 8.4, IBM AIX 7.1 and IBM AIX 6.1)
- TCP/IP networking experience including working knowledge of DNS, NTP, SMTP
- Shell scripting experience strongly preferred
- Ability to address high severity issues on occasion after hours
- Any industry-related certifications a plus
