Aircraft Structural Technician (Apprentice)
Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of the following certificates: FAA Airframe Technician’s certificate and a valid Class-C California driver’s license. One year of documented aerospace/aviation structural work experience may qualify in lieu of certificates.
Knowledge and Abilities:
FAA airframe structural maintenance, repair, and modification; structural airframe design; load path transmission; airframe construction methods, techniques and material; material alloy use and strength for new airframe fabrication and construction and repair of damage and corrosion to aircraft structures, solid and blind fasteners; and corrosion prevention. Perform structural major repairs to primary and secondary airframe structure and flight control surfaces in accordance with FAA-approved procedures, techniques and practices; fabricate new aircraft structures and parts, assess structural material and installed fasteners and make damage and corrosion repairs; and appropriate use of various alloy material and structural fasteners in the repair of airframe structures
