At Freddie Mac, you will do important work to build a better housing finance system and you’ll be part of a team helping to make homeownership and rental housing more accessible and affordable across the nation.
Employees, contingent workers and visitors are no longer required to show proof of vaccination to be on-site. Effective January 2023, Freddie Mac’s hybrid work arrangement is 3 days in the office (specifically Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday).
Position Overview:
We are seeking a hardworking and hands-on senior Big Data AWS Technical Lead to design, build, implement and maintain several data solutions on our modern Stratus/Cloud Native Data Lake platform. As a senior member of an agile modern delivery team, you will be working on multiple projects that will serve a variety of critical Loan Advisory Suite business needs. You will also be taking part in our current effort to modernize our platform using industry standard cloud-based technologies!

As part of Platform & Data Solutions organization, we are an eco-system that enables efficient, real-time loan evaluation and purchase decisions across Single Family by providing the right data at the right time. We are also leading the change to build several data solutions using our Stratus/Cloud Native Data Lake platform that enable consolidating, centralizing and consuming shared data for the enterprise to serve various data analytics and reporting needs!
Your Impact:
In this role, be part of the team to pave the way by building for the future working on innovative tools and technologies in alignment with business objectives. Research, learn and implement innovative, creative and effective big data solutions to support various data analytics and reporting needs of the enterprise .
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in leading as a domain expert a team of software development professionals in Big Data Technologies.
8+ years of experience in software development with 5+ years using Big Data technologies for large data ingestion
3 + years of experience building ETL processes using Talend or Informatica
2+ years of experience in Cloud technologies like AWS S3, EC2, Kubernetes/Amazon EKS
2+ years of experience in Attunity, Kafka, AMQ or similar streaming tools
1+ years of experience using Okera, Presto or similar
3+ years of database technologies Oracle, DB2, Mongo DB, NoSQL DBs, PostgreSQL
3+ years of experience developing on MapReduce, Hive, Sqoop, Spark, PySpark
2+ years of experience in Snowflake or similar
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or IT, Advanced degree preferred
