TASK RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position holder is responsible to supervise & coordinate the road feeder service in relation to the companies operational and administrative activities. As such they are responsible to ensure the adherence to all internal procedures when performing their duties and they must demonstrate best practices. They must act in accordance with defined methods and must report deviations to their manager. They initiate activities and actions and assist in managing daily planning procedures within the department. All duties shall be fulfilled in accordance to company guidelines. They represent the Trucking Department in internal / external meetings. They contribute to review departmental concepts on how to establish and implement more efficient and improved operational procedures. They will assist and train new staff on the job.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:

The position holder is in general accountable for the accomplishment of following tasks:

  • Assist stations and customers, pre-arrange services
  • Plan and organize the daily ground transportation activities (24/7/365)
  • Support GDP
  • Monitor and follow – up the instructions and daily planning
  • Provide customer support
  • Maintain records on activities
  • Provide finance department with service data
  • Contribute to team effort
  • Training requirements

People responsibility
The position holder has no supervisory responsibility for other staff. They might however have to supervise students, apprentices or trainees working temporarily in the department and helping on routine activities. They have to report to their department head all deviations from standard work practices, this includes safety and health items.

Budget planning responsibility
The position holder has no budget planning responsibility. They have to report equipment needs to the department head.

Revenue and cost control
The position holder is responsible to perform their work in a way that costs are minimised. They have a responsibility for controlling costs generated by their own work and monitoring the expenses and revenues linked to their department/Division.
Strategic responsibility
The position holder has no strategic planning responsibility; they must however contribute to achieving the goals fixed for the position in the departmental strategy plan or the budget.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • The position holder is based in Houston, Texas.
  • The position demands a regular presence in the office and requires vacation and other absences to be planned so as to avoid conflicting with service needs.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Flexibility may be needed with working hours. The position holder shall keep informed their line manager on their whereabouts and the means of telecommunications through which they will be reachable for urgent company needs, while on company mission.
