Job Description:

The Tobin Children’s School is seeking warm, energetic part time Assistant Teachers to join our early childhood classrooms from 3:00-5:45 on weekdays during the 2022-2023 school year. Work 3, 4 of 5 days a week as part of a dedicated classroom team of teachers to support child supervision, curriculum activities, indoor and outdoor play, and ensuring adherence to all safety and sanitation protocols. Assist in individual, small-group or large-group activities and help with light cleaning each afternoon. This is a perfect afterschool job for local students to gain work experience and to work in a fun, community environment.

The Tobin Children's School is a 9 classroom center, along with beautiful outside play spaces and an indoor gross motor room. The School provides a variety of experiences and activities designed to encourage children to learn about themselves, their friends, and their surroundings through small and large group experiences, quiet times and active play, as well as indoor and outdoor activities. Our classes focus on creating an engaging, enriching, developmentally appropriate curriculum with an introduction to school readiness skills. Teachers are encouraged to be creative in their curriculum planning as we help our students grow! We include yoga, Spanish, ASL, and animal science in our robust curriculum.

We have beautiful indoor classroom spaces, a gross motor playroom, and wonderful outside play options; including playgrounds for infants, toddlers, preschool/PreK, and school-age children, our large turf field, garden areas, an outdoor play space with loose parts, and our mud kitchen. All our classrooms are air conditioned and have air purifiers.

Requirements:

Applicants must be 16 years or older and be COVID vaccinated.

Compensation:

Pay is $15.50 per hour. Preference for summer employment is given for our school year assistant teachers.
