After-school Youth Development Professional (YDP)
Boys & Girls Club of Washington County is currently seeking energetic, organized, and compassionate individuals to join our Afterschool team in elementary schools throughout Washington County. We are searching for multiple team members who are interested in spending their time being positive role models to our Club youth.
As a Youth Development Professionals (YDPs), you will lead groups of children through a range of fun, exciting curriculum and activities such as homework help, arts and crafts, music, STEM, and so much more. You will keep the kids safe while having a great time right along with them.
Work hours are Monday through Friday from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm. (starting time is flexible for school district employees). This is a part-time seasonal position with the opportunity to work up to 20 hours per week at $12 an hour. This position runs to May 19th, this includes monthly training and bi-weekly staff meetings. We follow Burton and Brenham ISD’s School Calendar.
Job duties for this part-time position include but are not limited to:
Daily cleaning duties, supervision of children, implementation, and supervision of our core program areas which include health & wellness activities, arts & crafts, homework help, games, recreational activities, and much, much more!
Ultimately, a YDP's duties and responsibilities are to ensure that members are having a positive Club experience and ensures the safety of all members, and executes all tasks to the highest quality standards.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- At least 18 years old
- Required to pass a drug test and background check
- High School degree or GED required
- A valid ID
- Must be able to work special events and activities (will be given a month notice)
- Ability to wear a facemask and PPE’s at all times, if required
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Spanish speaking and writing is preferred
- Customer service skills
- Able to spend long periods of time outdoors in different weather conditions

This is a part-time seasonal after-school position for the 2022 - 2023 school year, with the option to stay on for the summer season (full-time summer position).
