Job description

Job Title: Aerodynamics Technician
Duration: 12 Month+
Location: Ann Arbor , MI

DESCRIPTION:
Development Responsibility:

  • 80% Evaluation Preparation
  • Disassembly/reassembly of test parts and equipment required for evaluation
  • Installation of testing sensors including thermal couples, accelerometers, speed tach and pressure sensor
  • Work in different evaluations within Aerodynamics, Thermal Systems, and NV areas to support current and future workload
  • Perform safety checks on vehicles to ensure safe operation
  • Data Acquisition systems set up
  • Support operation of test chambers and equipment (Climatic Chassis and Anechoic dynos)
  • Participate in long term planning, group action plans, and safety initiatives

20% Testing

  • Support accurate and comprehensive evaluations focused on Aerodynamics, Thermal Systems and NV
  • Support chassis dyno and on-road dynamic evaluations based on testing standards
  • Basic data confirmation post evaluation for accuracy / integrity based on evaluation KPI's
  • Organize data in graphs and tables to meet report needs
  • Write comprehensive weekly reports

Requirements:
Qualification Guidelines

  • Associates degree (or higher) or equivalent in automotive related field
  • MS Office Suite experience (Excel for graphs, Word for reports, and PowerPoint for creating presentations)
  • Intermediate to advanced automotive mechanical skills and knowledge
  • Cooling systems
  • HVAC systems
  • Engine and Powertrain
  • Suspension components
  • Machine shop experience (cutting, grinding, welding)
  • Clean driving record
  • 20% travel required (including Canada)

Added bonus if you have:

  • Chassis dyno evaluations experience
  • Automotive testing experience
  • General data acquisition experience
  • ECU software/hardware experience
  • Advanced Excel skills -VLOOKUP, INDEX and MATCH functions
  • CATIA experience

Interpret 3D and 2D data and prints

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Salary: Up to $27.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
