POSITION SUMMARY
This is an on-site position in Circleville, Ohio.
This position provides oversight for the student advising processes for the College Credit Plus (CCP) program at Ohio Christian University. The person in this position may travel to local public and private high schools to promote the Trailblazer Academy. This role will support the success of the CCP program through ensuring that excellent advising and supportive services are offered to CCP students at the Main Campus, Online, and High Schools. They will provide outreach, testing, and registration services to secondary schools, school districts, and home school populations, working to provide satisfying experiences to students, and exposing CCP students to higher education and OCU.

Salary Range: $13.00-$16.00

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research and remain current regarding CCP requirements and state laws and regulations to properly advise students.
- Represent OCU and CCP with public and private high schools, community organizations, and home school populations.
- Coordinate CCP Information Sessions with high schools and secondary school entities.
- Assist the Academic Director in providing services related to events, visits, advising of school officials, , and students regarding CCP guidance.
- Advise CCP students in conjunction with high school schedules and graduation requirements established by the state of Ohio and OCU.
- Assist with student, parent, and High School administration inquiries for services (e.g., Bookstore, Financial Aid) as necessary.
- Participate in University and community events as appropriate.
- Assist with orientation and advising with CCP students prior to semester start.
- Interact with schools, parents, students regarding enrollment processes from application to registration.
- Coordinate testing schedule and administrate testing of students.
- Provide correct General Education pathway information for CCP students, family, and schools.
- Assists Academic Director and CCP coordinator with data compilation, correction, and submission for billing to the state and to self ? pay students.
- Assist Academic Director in working with high school guidance counselors in all aspects related to their students? CCP schedule, funding, sports/program eligibility, graduation, etc.
- Assist Academic Director in following up with guidance counselors on all issues related to CCP students (e.g., official rosters, advising and registrations for courses, add/drop).
- Cultivate relationship with CCP student and parent population for future matriculation and provide references for college and scholarship applications.
- Advocate for the CCP student population at the university, in their educational districts, and within the community.
- Provide academic advising to CCP students.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WORK RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Academic Director
Internal OCU Relationships: Students, Faculty, Advisors, Admissions, Academics, Finance, Registrar
External Relationships: Local public and private high schools, home school organizations, and general community
QUALIFICATIONS
According to Ohio Christian University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the OCU Community Lifestyle Statement.
- Associate degree required; Bachelor's preferred
- Eligibility for faculty status dependent upon qualifications
- Experience teaching or administrating in secondary or postsecondary education (preferred)
- Significant relationship in the community or willingness to cultivate such
- Excellent telephone and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent computer and research skills
- Excellent organization skills, an ability to prioritize and multitask
- Ability to communicate effectively with variety of community stakeholders (e.g. school administration, community members, parents and students)
- There may be minor lifting relevant to coordinating orientation sessions.
