Operations & Communications

Job Purpose:
Supports the Advancement division's engagement efforts, including program promotion, print and electronic communications and contract management. Develops communications that are relevant, timely and aligned with divisional priorities. Serves as staff liaison to volunteer committees and programs as needed. Maintains divisional website and assists the Director of Advancement Communication with writing, proofreading, social media, podcasting and video production.

Essential Duties:
- Builds, tests and maintains online registration pages for all Advancement events ensuring a positive user experience and seamless integration with database reporting-Coordinate communication outreach and calendaring for Advancement events and programs; develop and send broadcast emails, relevant communications and event registration materials- Support the Director of Advancement Communication in video production and sharing, event photography, social media posting, podcasting, and compiling content for the Scranton Journal and Royal News-Maintain University Advancements printing production schedule by helping colleagues meet deadlines and facilitating the approval process- Maintain University Advancement web pages, updating pages regularly with current and relevant dates and content- Provide necessary support to team members leading events and programs
  • Participate in planning meetings, accepting assignments, assisting colleagues and providing support for all ongoing programs and operations as needed in relation to engagement efforts

Additional Skills Required:
  • Ability to complete projects on time and on budget

  • Solid computer skills with experience using Microsoft office suite and social media platforms

  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines
  • Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines by meeting a high level of organization

  • Discretion and ability to act with high level donors and diverse donor base

  • Ability to cultivate positive working relationships with students, employees and external constituents

  • Ability to work under demanding deadlines

  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities; develop and provide reports as requested

  • Ability to concurrently coordinate multiple projects

  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed, night and weekend work involved

  • Must be able to support the Universitys commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture

  • Must be able to respect, support and contribute to the Universitys Catholic and Jesuit mission

Minimum Education Requirements:
Bachelors degree required

Preferred Education:

Minimum Job Experience Requirements:
- At least one (1) year of relevant work experience- Demonstrated experience in messaging through a variety of channels- print, web, email and social media- Experience in proofreading, content organization and data management, and web-based CMS- Project management experience

Schedule/Work Hours:
Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Additional hours as required.
