Functional Manager: Assist Engineering Manager
Main purpose of the job:
Manages the scope and introduction of running changes (customer or IAC driven) to existing programs / projects within the product portfolio.
Supports the development and implementation of VA/VE ideas to support IAC’s requirements.
Engenders a philosophy of ‘managed’ change control through all aspects of the organization associated with Program and project management.
Engages the various program team members driving them to function as one coherent team.
Establish and report on a regular basis an overview of the CFT(s) and program(s) / project(s) status to management.
Main missions and results:
Primary cross-functional interface for the customer(s) and the IAC CFT(s).
Plans, organizes and conducts activities within its area in an effective manner towards achieving common objectives of IAC Group & ensure the teams function as a coherent unit.
Scheduling and conducting regular CFT meetings to ensure a sufficiently detailed level of communication is maintained and to ensure timely completion of their deliverables.
Ensure correct escalation and reporting of program / project issues in a timely manner to the relevant management level in order to engender successful resolution.
For Engineering Changes will manage, maintain and adapt overall IAC program / project timing and budgets in conjunction with the key IAC department stakeholders & customer(s) in order to manage changes to support a successful launch.
Defining all Key Milestones & Deliverables, driving or supporting as per RASIC. inc. but not restricted to:
o Customer and related IAC build dates (build plans)
o Customer Order requirement dates
o Tooling timing
o Completes communication plan
o Make v’s Buy preparation and sign-off
o Lessons learned deliverable
o Customer satisfaction review
o Supports Okay to Ship Events
o Supports Logistics studies
o Supports Supplier sourcing
o Supports Burst Build & R@R events (internal & customer)
o Supports Tooling Qualification events
Manage all commercial elements of a platform/program including negotiating and monitoring target pricing where applicable
Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
Identifies & computes costs by gathering and anlyzing labor, material, specifications, blueprints, timing and other related documents.
Track receipt of purchase orders and tolling orders
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in project and / or Program Management, (preferred), and /or Engineering and/or Business Administration or 5 years’ experience in automotive industry as Program Manager.
Good working knowledge / understanding industry standards & related procedures
APQP training or 5 years’ experience in automotive industry in project management
PPAP training or 5 years’ experience in automotive industry in project management
IATF16949 training or 5 years’ experience in automotive industry in project management
Sufficient verbal and written language skills associated to IAC and the program / project and operational locations
Local language required, English preferred
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the customer and within IAC
Adaptability in the location of work including business travel
Flexibility to change priorities in response to changing program / project demands
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,451.92 - $105,000.00 per year
