Position Description
Responsible for scheduling all facets of hospital direct admits from AUMC clinics, outside clinics, home, and any other location. Ensures every direct admit has an accepting attending, proper status, and admission diagnosis. Coordinates bedding locations with bed czar, nursing supervision, and the transfer center. Also assists with any registration issues, IDX and capacity management troubleshooting, as well as coordinating patient movement throughout the organization via Capacity Management.
Position Requirements
High School Diploma or GED and 2 years or more of experience in healthcare or customer service related field. Skills required: High phone-call volume customer service; Correctly spell diagnoses, procedures, patient names; Interpersonal skills.
Preferred Requirements
Vocational or technical training or degree: Registration. 2 years or more of experience in registration, admissions, or scheduling. Experience with IDX, Capacity Management, Powerchart, FirstNet. Previous experience working with multiple specialities.
