Our hospital is a Level IV ER trauma center, an award-winning Level 1 Birth Center, and operates several outpatient clinics, including: surgery, orthopedic, occupational health, pain management, wound care, four primary care clinics, and three physical therapy/sports rehabilitation clinics in Arcata, McKinleyville, and Willow Creek. Mad River Home Health Care provides a wide range of services throughout the community and county. We are proud to boast a 2-acre on-site farm that provides our cafeteria with produce for serving patients and staff.

The Admitting Clerk & Switchboard Operator assists in the operation of the hospital by receiving/screening and registering patients for procedures and admissions. Representatives should have a strong working knowledge of hospital systems, computers and related software. Switchboard Operators answer all incoming calls, route telephone traffic, and serve as the hospital receptionist. Shifts need are Nights, Sunday - Thursday 11:00pm - 7:30 am.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to interact with the public, relate well to others, and maintain a positive and professional demeanor
- One year related experience in the healthcare industry preferred
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Visual acuity to read documentation tools, manuals, and other material relevant to the department
- Auditory acuity to hear verbal communications and instrument alarms
- CPR certification within three months of hire
- Maturity and emotional stability; ability to handle fast-paced physical activity, rapidly changing conditions, emotional demands, demands of maintaining effective working relations with peers, managers, patients and others
Wages are based on prior related experience.

We are locally owned, independently operated, and committed to providing the best care for our patients. The hospital also provides a wide range of Home Health Services throughout the community, and operates four health care clinics, an occupational health clinic, and three physical therapy/rehabilitation clinics in Arcata, McKinleyville, and Willow Creek. What’s more, we have a fully functioning, 2-acre on-site garden with its produce served to patients and staff.
