Alleviating long and unnecessary stays in the hospital, our home infusion team administer intravenous (IV) therapy and treatment in a safe and comfortable setting. Through our experienced and professional pharmacy team, AmeriMed assists patients recovering from surgery, being treated for an infection, or with nutritional needs to maintain an active, healthy lifestyle while receiving care at home. Our goal is to help each patient be an active participant in their care. Through education and partnership with each patient and their caregivers, we teach our patients how to effectively manage their therapy and provide ongoing oversight, coordination and support throughout their therapy.

AmeriMed Home Infusion Pharmacy in Indianapolis, IN is looking for an Admissions Coordinator to join our team!

Responsibilities

As an Admissions Coordinator at AmeriMed Home Infusion you will:

  • Help ensure that infusion patients have a seamless transition to the home with the coordination of infusion therapy, enteral therapy and durable medical equipment.
  • Work closely with referral sources, patients, pharmacy, nursing, and all other ancillary services. Developing and maintain relationships and generating an open flow of communication.
  • Initiate the admission process for referred patients by procuring all patient information necessary including but not limited to patient demographics, insurance information, and therapy information.
  • Obtain COC (Continuity Of Care)
  • Verify coverage, complete benefit checks, and/or initial prior authorization for all product lines as required by payor.
  • Generate and send out ABN (Advance Beneficiary Notice), AOB (Assignment of Benefits), and Patient Agreement.
  • Coordinate start of care with referral source, patient, pharmacy, nursing, delivery and all ancillary services.
  • Coordinate the processing of Certificate of Medical Necessity (CMN's) and Statement of Medical Necessity (SMN's) as well as Detailed Written Orders (DWO) and DME Information Form (DIF).

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years customer service experience in medical field required, prior home infusion intake experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work closely with a wide range of professionals or a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Interpersonal skills that facilitate inter and intra team/departmental communication.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.
  • Knowledge of prior authorizations, commercial and government insurance payor coverage preferred.
