In collaboration with the communities in Pico Rivera, Santa Fe Springs, El Monte, South El Monte, Whittier, portions of Norwalk, La Mirada, Downey, La Puente, the City of Industry, Los Nietos and Avocado Heights, Río Hondo College provides an exceptional academic curriculum to meet the unique needs of our region and strengthen our communities.
Instruct students in correct procedures for completion of forms and applications; explain applications, requirements and restrictions; review completed forms for accuracy and completeness. E
Process application forms; review records for changes in status; request transcripts, records and other information needed to determine status of applications and forms. E
Analyze and determine status of applications and forms; refer problems to supervisor for assistance and resolution; notify students of need for additional information. E
Answer telephones and provide information and assistance as required. E
Prepare and transmit correspondence for students, verifying student status and other information; respond to requests from other educational institutions and agencies involving the verification of student status and records. E
Operate computer terminal and other related office equipment to update student records and verify student information. E
Make residency determinations based on state residency requirements; enter application information into the computer; collect fees and prepare receipts for money collected. E
Register students by accepting mail-in forms, verifying residency status and correct payment of fees and enrolling the student in desired classes by entering information into the computer; assist in resolving student complaints regarding program errors and make program changes for pre-registered students. E
Maintain student records; audit records to assure accuracy; assure collection of fees owed by students prior to release of transcripts; provide copies of transcripts according to approved procedures. E
Determine fee waivers and fee credits in accordance with State and federal guidelines. E
Process late registration and enrollment changes; assure the collection of appropriate drop fees; assure accurate accounting through computer entry of enrollment changes and fees collected or owed. E
Post grades on student’s permanent record at the end of each reporting period; prepare and distribute class attendance and grade rosters according to schedule. E
Establish and maintain appropriate manual and computerized records and files; provide information and assistance to instructors, other staff members and the public as requested or assigned. E
Collect, compile, verify and record information for the preparation of reports by the Director. E
Train and provide work direction to student workers as assigned.
Order and maintain office supplies; receive, open and distribute mail.
Perform enrollment verifications including calculating grade point averages. E
Review and post credit by examination, academic renewal, and course repetition, and credit/no credit petitions. E
Assist with the awarding of Certificates of Achievement and graduation of students with Rio Hondo College records only.

Any degree from a country other than the United States, including Canada and Great Britain, must be evaluated by an Evaluation Service prior to the closing date. Certification must be attached with copies of transcripts.
