The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the operational leadership for MAHEC’s Department of Pharmacotherapy and Department of Research. This leadership role has allocated time to two different departments and will report directly to two different leaders for key role accountabilities. This includes people leadership, budget and financial accountability, contracts, resource coordination, and coordination of program administrative support. This role services as a liaison with other departments and stakeholders internally and externally in the county, region and state.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for achieving optimal operations; including budget and financial accountability, workforce and resource coordination while maintaining strong mission focus.
  • Responsible for overall management of talent in the department; partners with the Chair to ensure optimal recruitment, retention and continuous performance management of faculty, staff and learners.
  • In partnership with the Chair, fosters the culture so as to focus on: equity, accountability, engagement, patient/learner experience, collaboration and quality of the clinical, educational, and research programs in accordance with the mission of MAHEC.
  • Accountable for implementation of departmental strategies for growth and business development.
  • Responsible for operational metrics and measures; responsible for data dashboards and departmental measures to ensure success; analyzes key trends in operations.
  • Responsible for maintaining productivity expectations and incentives for clinical providers.
  • Partners closely with the outpatient clinical coordinator and Clinic Management teams for successful clinical operations and optimal patient/learner experience.
  • Partners closely with the Medical Director and Quality Improvement Team to drive success of ACO measures.
The Administrative Director collaborates with Executive Leaders, other Administrative Directors and stakeholders for organizational and interdepartmental alignment and collaboration, and success of the entire organization.

SPECIFIED SKILLS
  • COMPUTER - Proficient with MS Office software (MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and Power Point).
  • FOREIGN LANGUAGE - Spanish speaking skills preferred.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • May oversee administrative support personnel in both departments.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or other related field with a minimum of five (5) years of progressive management experience in a healthcare environment, including budgeting and supervisory experience required.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Master’s in healthcare administration preferred.
    • Experience in Pharmacotherapy clinic administration, to include billing and collections highly preferred.
    • Experience with 340B Pharmacy
    • Experience managing budgets, financial management, and/or budget initiatives.
    • Experience with graduate medical education (GME).
    • Demonstrated experience using a systems approach for quality improvement initiatives preferred.

SALARY:
Base of salary payband for this position is $95,400 annually, and offers are based on experience, educational requirements and internal team equity.
