III. Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual's job. He/she may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time.

Organizational Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates commitment to the quality, philosophy, and values of Baptist Health Home Care by maintaining established policies and procedures, organizational objectives, process improvement, and safety standards.
  • Demonstrates Baptist Health Deaconess standards in all interpersonal relations.
  • Serves as back up for office reception and referral intake.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Performs duties such as typing letters, reports, memo and documents.
  • Tracks and enters payroll data for the Home Care agency.
  • Encodes patient admissions and re-certifications as necessary.
  • Obtains and verifies insurance coverage for patient.
  • Obtains prior authorizations from payors as needed
  • Performs pre- billing audit monthly and communicates to RCM team
  • Imports and manages medication data for billing.
  • Enters charges from Daily time and travel sheets
  • Reviews and processes payment invoices for the Clinical Manager to approve.
  • OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

IV.Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Experience

Clerical, and/or data entry experience is preferred.

Basic computer skills are also required for the position.

Demonstrates working knowledge of billing practice is preferred

V.Skills and Abilities Required

Ability to deal with stress in a positive manner

Familiar with a team approach to problem solving and project management

Flexible and highly organized; able to prioritize work assignments and multitask

Knowledge of personal computer operations

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Manage care orientation and knowledge

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements

  • Strength – Position requires ability to occasionally lift objects less than _20_ pounds.
  • Manual Dexterity – Position requires incumbent to constantly perform moderately difficult manipulative skills such as keyboarding, etc.
  • Coordination – Position requires incumbent to frequently perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination such as keyboard skills, running computers, etc.
  • Mobility – Position requires incumbent to constantly sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Visual Discrimination – Position requires incumbent to discriminate colors, as in reading colors of electrical wires or warning lights and see both near both far away.
  • Hearing – Position requires incumbent to hear normal sounds with some background noise, as in answering the telephone.

Mental Requirements

  • Concentration – Position requires incumbent to frequently concentrate on fine detail with some interruption.
  • Attention Span – Position requires incumbent to frequently attend to a task/function for longer than 60 minutes at a time.
  • Conceptualization – Position requires the ability to frequently able to understand and relate to the theories behind several related concepts.
  • Memory – Position requires incumbent to constantly remember multiple tasks/assignments given to self and others over long periods of time.
  • Communication – Position requires incumbent to constantly communicate verbally using advanced level vocabulary and communicate in writing, using advanced written skills.

Work primarily in an office setting with moderate to light noise.
