Riverdale Country School is a preK - 12 day school in New York City that combines both traditional and innovative practices to provide an excellent Liberal Arts learning environment. In supporting the Head of Upper School, the AA will perform the following duties:

  • Coordinate logistics for school events such as parents day, graduation, etc
  • Manage the calendar for the Head of Upper School including scheduling appointments that relate to the office
  • Answer and direct phone calls
  • Develop and maintain an electronic record keeping system to manage information
  • Update and maintain office policies and procedures
  • Interact with on campus and outside vendors to obtain supplies as needed
  • Manage budgets by processing credit card payments and receipts
  • Maintain contact lists
  • Book travel arrangements, hotel accommodations etc for the Head of Upper School, other campus employees and visitors
  • Provide general support to visitors
  • Act as the point of contact for internal and external contacts of the school

In supporting the Global Studies program, the AA will perform the following duties, as needed:

  • Facilitating meetings of the Global Studies Program
  • Publicizing upcoming trips and meetings
  • Communicating with school partners in and outside of the United States
  • Communicating via email with students and families regarding program updates and requirements
  • Shepherding visiting groups from other schools when they visit Riverdale
  • Making arrangements or purchasing tickets for events or travel with and without the help of a travel agent
  • Preparing, distributing and collecting all trip paperwork
  • Keeping spreadsheets for trip spending and paperwork collection
  • Arranging lunch tables for outside program visits

Requirements include:

  • Minimum 2 years experience working in office support/management role
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills, including the ability to follow through to completion on multiple simultaneous tasks or projects
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including a high degree of attention to detail
  • Sufficient familiarity with relational databases to allow essential work: pulling attendance records, exporting grades, producing other reports as needed, etc.
  • The ideal candidate has skills in working with the Google suite, including Google docs, Google sheets and Gmail, in addition to basic word processing skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and patience with and interest in high school students, parents, and faculty/staff
  • Desire to learn and to stay abreast of emerging technologies
  • Knowledge of Spanish or another language other than English is a plus!
  • Willingness to seek joy in our shared work
The estimated annual salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000 per year.

Full time teaching faculty are eligible for a sabbatical after 10 years of employment.
