Department Summary
The CYD Rising Blazers Program at UNT Dallas partners with local nonprofits, grassroots organizations, and community stakeholders to provide support and resources for programming for our participants and their families. Programming includes the four CYD core program components of Mentoring; Post High School Readiness; Youth Leadership Development; and Youth Advisory Committee, along with additional ancillary programming. These additional programs include life skills, mental health support, sports and recreation, and community and civic engagement opportunities.
The goal of CYD is to support Youth by fostering safe spaces, positive relationships, and structured opportunities to build assets and skills. These supports lead to strengthened connections, engagement, and contribution to the community.

Position Summary
Working under the supervision of the Director of UNT Dallas Community Youth Development Program (CYD), the Administrative Assistant will assist the CYD team in the administrative duties to support coordination, facilitation, and implementation of various programmatic components, internal data collection, and records keeping and maintenance, and community engagement activities.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and organize files, enters data, and verifies data entry accuracy.
  • Support maintenance of data entry and record files.
  • Provide administrative support to office functions.
  • Monitor general inbox for inquiries.
  • Assist with planning program initiatives and events.
  • Assist with social media posts and development of marketing materials.
  • Coordinate special project and administrative support for internal and external activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must possess the following:
  • Excellent customer service skills, effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Thorough knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete tasks independently.
  • Proficiency to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data, and to prepare reports from such records.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ease in relating to people from varying educational, cultural and social backgrounds.
  • Responsible, reliable and punctual.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work of others.
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Must be able to pass a Department of Family & Protective Services background check
