We’re seeking a qualified, enthusiastic and organized individual to join our Produce Department team as Administrative Assistant for the Foodland Stores. This individual will work closely with the Department Director. If you love multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, working with numbers and believe in sourcing local first and always the best produce, then this position could be just what you are looking for!
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting a variety of daily and weekly tasks that are critical to our produce buying including the preparation of product distributions, purchase orders, new item set up and cost/retail system updates.
The responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
- Item maintenance: new item set up, enter unauthorized items, updating costs/retail prices
- Resolve store and warehouse issues including: items not on file, not scanning, unauthorized items
- Contact with local vendors: new item set up, scheduling in-store demos/appointments and tracking orders
- Coordinate product information with Marketing department for social media postings
- Maika'i end date report weekly
- Prepare weekly reports: operations meetings
- Daily bulletin posting: inventory sheets, next week ad information, drop information
- Ad support: routing/proofing, reporting, ad tentative (notifying stores what will be on ad to assist with ordering)
- Mail distribution
- Assist with other company initiatives as needed
Required Skills:
- Must have strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and ability to multi-task
- Must have excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- customer service skills required
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong computer skills, must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Work and Excel; required
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of skills/experience; preferred
- Previous administrative assistant experience preferred
Other Requirements:
- Must comply with all company policies and requirements
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to sit
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
- Occasionally required to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally carry up to 25 pounds
Communication Demands:
The position requires talking to employees, supervisors, managers, executives, and outside trade persons/vendors; written communication to employees, supervisors, managers, executives, and outside persons/vendors; responding to written or verbal requests; reading; composing written language; receiving verbal and written instructions.

The noise level in the office work environment is usually light.
This is a full-time hourly position with excellent benefits and the individual will based at the corporate office. Flexible work schedule, some overtime may be required.
